The changing of the year often brings many emotions. Instead of getting caught up in the past year, I choose to welcome the New Year with an open heart and mind. I gently say goodbye to the year that is leaving. I reflect on all it brought me - good and bad - and choose to focus on the good. There are many accomplishments I am proud of in the past year.
By looking at all the things that took place in the last year, I choose what I want for the New Year. I know what to avoid and what I want to see more of. I choose happiness, peace, and joy. These are all gifts I can give to myself. I remember their importance and value, and vow to keep them in my life throughout the New Year.
Because I have these gifts, I share them with others. I make the world better and brighter because I am willing to share what I know. I freely give my happiness and joy to others. I offer them peace with no strings attached. I get much satisfaction from encouraging others.
As I calmly let go of one year, I welcome the new one with all it has to offer. The New Year is bound to be full of exciting surprises. I know that my response to the challenges I face in the year to come shapes my destiny. I choose to respond with peace and harmony, even when I face seemingly insurmountable odds.
Today, I release the past year and embrace the future.
