Tis the season to make some yummy HEALTHY SNACKS...!
Maple Glazed Pecans (any nut)
1 cup maple syrup
3 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons salt
Put it all in a LARGE pot, big enough to get a lot of nuts in.
Medium heat till bubbling, add as many nuts as you can fit and stir stir stir stir and then stir some more. You want the nuts completely and evenly coated.
Take the nuts out of the pan and put on a sheet pan in a single layer.
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Set timer for 6 minutes and then start checking onthe nuts, the trick is to get them as dark as possible without burning. Usually around 10-12 minutes, but every oven is different, watch this step closely till you get the hang of it.
Take then out of the oven and let them cool completely, then go through and separate the nuts and put in storage.
Finally, and most importantly, make sure to hide them from the wife and kids or you'll never get any.
